Off-season Roster Deadline (1/30)
The following must occur by 1/30 to be legal:
- Active roster should be at or below 25 players (below 25 if you plan to participate in the off-season auction). - All minor leaguers no longer eligible for the minors (500 or more career MLB at bats/100 or more career MLB innings pitched) must be promoted to your active 25-man roster by this date. Failure to do so will result in that player being released. o Note: Once a minor leaguer reaches 500 or more career MLB at bats/100 or more career MLB innings pitched, they are no longer considered minor leaguers and must be permanently promoted during the off-season. The player becomes part of your 25-man roster when you promote them during the off-season and can no longer be promoted/demoted to your minors going forward. - Roster should be under cap (based on the updated 2018 player salaries). o Financials spreadsheet to reflect updated caps and player salaries will be provided by end of year 2018. - If a player has a long-term injury heading into the 2019 season, you can place the player on the Long-Term DL. The player will not count against your cap or 25-man roster. - Failure to make your roster legal by the 1/30 date will result in the commissioner adjusting your roster to make it legal. - Trading will be closed after this date to conduct the minor league draft and auction. Once the minor league draft and auction are complete, trading will open back up.
Minor League Draft (2/1)
- As a reminder, the minor league draft will be 5 rounds. This draft will be conducted on the Pro Boards with the same rules as last year’s minor league draft. Check out the minor league rules section for more details if needed. - Draft board will be updated on the Pro Boards at some point during the off-season (before 2/1).
Free Agent Auction
- Will occur after the conclusion of the minor league draft. - Auction will be conducted on the Pro Boards. - Rules regarding the free agent auction will be posted no later than mid-January 2019.
Rules Discussion
- There will be a discussion post created (soon) on the Pro Boards to add any rules suggestions. I’m open to feedback on slight tweaks/adjustments to rules to enhance the league. The league structure and primary rules/setup will obviously remain in place, but I’m open to small changes that would make the league better. - If you provide a suggestion and I, the commissioner, deem it worth consideration as part of a rules change, I will make a note of the suggestion and add it to the voting list. - Starting in December, I will take all suggestions from the voting list and allow the league to vote on the suggestions. A majority vote (right now 8 votes) will be needed for a rule change to take effect.

Will we be allowed to promote/demote/release players between the Draft and the Auction?

Hey HOU,
All promotions/demotions/drops must occur before the draft starts. Once we start the draft, you will not be able to promote/demote/release or trade players until the conclusion of both the minor league draft and the MLB auction.
