Instead of two separate drafts why not combine them into one draft? Everyone is responsible for drafting 25 MLB players & 25 MILB players. Did this in my other fantrax draft. Just a suggestion, either way I'm down for whatever.

But to do that, I'd have to set the roster size to 50, we complete 50 rounds of drafting, move the 25 minors to the minors section of our roster on Fantrax after the draft, and then move the roster size back to 25. Not sure if Fantrax will let me adjust the roster size back to 25 once the draft is complete.

What are you thinking on salaries? Will they be based on real world MLB salaries, or fantasy market value? I think fantrax offers both.

You'd rather do 2 separate drafts instead of doing a 50 round draft where we can prioritize when we want to take top prospects? Interesting.
I don't really care which draft we do first

The commish indicated this would be a salary league based on actual salaries utilizing COTs for a resource. Yes, it means a bit more work to understand how that impacts your team and fantasy value. But that is where your knowledge come into play. That means also unless the Commish comes up with a method, no bidding on FA once the season starts. How could you if you use the actual salary? Anyway, that will be cleared up once the rules are posted.

Once the season starts, free agency will be like any standard league. You will add/drop players like normal, you just have to account for salaries and make sure you can afford any salary differences between the player you add and the player you drop.

Hey, I was just experimenting with creating a league in FanTrax. When I turned on Salaries, I was informed that this is a premium feature, and there would be a fee associated. $79.95 for a premium league; I assume per league per season, so $5 per person. I think FanTrax can collect from each manager (maybe kick them out if they don't pay?)
I have always played free leagues, personally, but $5 won't stop me from joining. Or we could skip the salary thing. Or we could track salaries ourselves in a spreadsheet; I do this for another league, and it's a pain in the a$$. I think we could set up a shared Google spreadsheet or something, but it's probably worth $5 to have it taken care of.

I haven't decided if it's worth it to pay $80 for the features, as I'd still have to go through and manually update each player's salary on Fantrax. As you said, the other way is to set up a Google docs spreadsheet, where I can handle the tracking of all salaries and everyone would have access for viewing/editing. If I do use the premium features, I won't charge people for it. If people wanted to chip in, that would be fine, but not a requirement. But I'm thinking that I may end up going with the spreadsheet setup.
