- Each team will have the ability to place up to 3 players from their 25 man roster on the Taxi Squad.
- For a player to be eligible for demotion to the Taxi Squad, the player can only be 25 man roster eligible (a player that does not have minor league eligibility) and the player must be inactive (demoted to the minors by their real life MLB team, released or become a free agent in real life, or restricted from playing in MLB games, such as a long-term suspension or on the real life restricted list).
- A player that is eligible for demotion to the Taxi Squad does not count against your 25 man roster once you place them on your Taxi Squad. Since the player will not count against your 25 man roster, you will be required to add/promote a player to get your roster back to a legal 25 man roster.
- A player’s salary does not count against your cap when they are on your Taxi Squad.
- To place a player on the Taxi Squad, you will post the roster move in the designated Taxi Squad section on Pro Boards and either place the player on IR in Fantrax if suspended (player must be designated with a yellow flag in Fantrax to place the suspended player on IR) or release the player if they were demoted to the minors. All Taxi Squad members will be tracked on the spreadsheet and in the Taxi Squad section on Pro Boards. This will allow owners to search/see which players are on a team’s Taxi Squad.
- If a player is still on your Taxi Squad by end of year, you will have until the off season deadline/roster cutoff date to promote them back to your 25 man roster. If you do not promote the player by that date, you will automatically release the player and he will become a free agent.
- The Taxi Squad is optional. You may choose to legally keep an inactive player on your 25 man roster if you want, as long as you have active players for each of the 18 starting positions (C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UTIL, SP, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, RP).
